Thai iPod VIDEO (5G) firmware!!

FINALLY!!! Click continue reading to find out how ...

Quick note to start with, if you have the new iPod Video (aka iPod 5G (5th Generation)) and plugged into iTunes lately, you will know that there's a new firmware for it. New firmware Version 1.1 (date: 2006-01-10), while the original firmware is 1.0 (date: 2005-11-17).

If you've not yet updated your iPod Firmware, I suggest you not to update it yet. If you've updated it already, don't worry about it too much. New firmware (1.1) will cause some problem with video playback(if converted with Videora) and will change the on/off backlight button(hold MENU button) to "Back To Main Menu" button. So if you don't want to change the function of your MENU button or don't want to re-convert all your videos again, then keep the original firmware for now.

NOW, to the subject of the title ...

For my fellow Thai's, new hacked firmware for iPod Video (5G) 30g and 60g is out. As you all know, the new iPod video does not support thai fonts, but thanks to hOng .. you can now update your firmware so your iPod can display thai fonts.

Available for both old and new firmware:

- Old firmware you will need: 2005-11-17 version.
- Recently updated firmware you will need: 2006-01-10 version.

Get them both HERE

You will also need iPodWizard v1.1 so you can update without having to load all the files in your iPod again and keeping the existing ones. Get it HERE

What to do next? = Download both firmware and iPodWizard - Unzip both files on to your desktop - Plug in your iPod - Run iPodWizard and click DOWNGRADE FIRMWARE button on top right corner of iPodWizard - When done, RUN iPod Updater - follow instructions - DONE!

GOODLUCK!
